Endlich eingetroffen ist die PRS Joe Walsh McCarty 594 Singlecut Limited Edition, die weltweit auf 200 Stück limitiert ist. In Deutschland und Österreich sind gerade mal 20 Stück verfügbar. Die Decke ist eine 10 Top Decke aus geriegeltem Ahorn mit einer Geigenkurve gefertigt, der restliche Korpus ist aus Mahagoni. Das McCarty-Sunburst-Finish ist mit dünnem Gloss-„Cracking“-Nitro aufgetragen. Das mit 22 rostfreien Edelstahlbünde bestückte Griffbrett aus brasilianischem Palisander mit „Ol School Birds“-Inlays ist auf einen Mahagoni-Hals mit Pattern-Vintage-Shape aufgeleimt. Bei der Hardware greifen PRS auf ein hauseigenes Two-Piece-Stoptail zurück, das Tross-Rod-Cover weist die Gitarre als „Joe Walsh Limited Edition“ aus. Die Saiten werden von den beiden Tonabnehmern 58/15 LT+ Trebler und 58/15 LT+ Bass abgenommen, die sich per Push-Pull-Poti splitten und dem Drei-Wege-Schalter ansteuern lassen. Jede Gitarre ist zudem von Joe Walsh und Paul Reed Smith handsigniert.
Als man bei PRS anfing eine Gitarre für den Weltstar Joe Walsh zu konzipieren, mussten vorher natürlich einige Dinge geklärt sein. Die Vorgaben waren klar. Die Gitarre musste natürlich superb klingen, umwerfend gut aussehen und ein Rio Palisander Griffbrett, sowie eine 10 Top Decke und Edelstahlbünde aufweisen. Für die Lackierung kam nur Nitrolack in Frage. Nach ewig langer Wartezeit konnten wir endlich die Gitarre in den Händen halten. Soviel sei gesagt…die Erwartungen wurden einfach mal übertroffen. Angeblich soll nachfolgendes Zitat von Joe Walsh stammen: „Die Gitarre ist der Wahnsinn und lässt meine Originale ziemlich alt aussehen.“ Wie dem auch sei, wer dieses limitierte Instrument erwirbt, bekommt eine Gitarre für´s Leben.
